Heavy Rigid (HR) to Multi Combination (MC) Course Summary
This course is for participants who currently have a Heavy Rigid licence and want to upgrade to a Multi Combination licence. Upgrading from a HR Licence to a MC Licence is conducted in an automatic prime mover, b-double combination, and takes two (2) days to complete.
Heavy Combination (HC) to Multi Combination (MC) Course Summary
This course is for those participants who currently have a Heavy Combination licence and want to upgrade to a Multi Combination licence. Upgrading from a HC licence to a MC Licence is conducted in an automatic prime mover, b- double combination, and takes one (1) day to complete.
What can I drive with a MC Licence?
Upon successful completion the student will be able to obtain their Multi Combination (MC) licence and be able to drive MC trucks with a transmission type of automatic or synchromesh.If you currently have an unrestricted licence, you will not lose this endorsement when upgrading in an automatic – i.e. you will still be able to drive MC vehicles fitted with manual gearbox (also known as a Road Ranger, Crashbox, or Constant Mesh).
A Multi Combination (MC) Licence allows the holder to drive B-doubles; Prime mover, low loader dolly and low loader trailer combinations; and road trains. See image below.
